However, if you're looking for a classic TV special soundtrack to set the mood for your Thanksgiving, there's a brand-new, remixed, and just-released version of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving ready to fill your Turkey Day guests with nostalgic joy.
The children of Lee Mendelson, who produced all of the Peanuts television specials, recently found the original multitrack tapes of jazz-piano legend Vince Guaraldi's musical scores he recorded for their father. This discovery allowed them to have Guaraldi's music remixed by San Francisco Bay Area engineer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Terry Carleton without the dialog, sound effects, and other elements that were needed for the specials, but also clouded up the music. As a result, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving: Original Soundtrack Recording is the first time fans can hear Guaraldi's unadulterated score—just like it was a conventional jazz album.
